Soul of Sisterhood SOS Retreat banner

A holistic, healing weekend for women looking to discover the true meaning and purpose of sisterhood.

October 30th - November 1st, 2020 | Anhui, China

Our Soul Of Sisterhood (SOS) retreat was created to better understand the importance, the need, and the work that revolves around creating healthy and sustainable sisterhood. It is known that humans need each other and that we thrive when we have a community supporting our every move. If nurtured, scheduled, and cared for, our bonds with other women can truly flourish into powerful, long-lasting friendships that are meant to help each participant navigate through this thing we call life.

Some of you reading this are thinking that you have a group of women supporting you, but we present you with a moment of reflection. Do you stand in your glory with your sisters by celebrating your pay raise, talking about the great sex you are having, venting about how good you feel in your skin, or speaking about how accomplished you felt after taking care of yourself? Or, do you sit with your sisters in negativity by suppressing your happy moments because you don't want others to feel bad around you? Have you noticed that we've been groomed to believe that there isn't enough happiness to go around? And that if we show who we really are, there is a chance we won't be accepted for showing up as our most vulnerable selves?

Join us under the full moon as you are guided by two facilitators who will lead you through workshops, sister circles, healing sound journeys, and bodywork to help us redefine, redesign, and realign our sisterhood.

Redefine

First, we find out what we all think sisterhood means to us, and then we redefine it together so that it becomes an accurate and modern definition. Creating the foundation of what sisterhood should be is essential to the success of our time together.

REdesign

Then, we redesign how sisterhood works. How to better communicate, better listen, and better understand each other and ourselves. Our coaches and mentors will provide tools and examples of how we can be the best partner and ally to our sisters, both in our personal lives and in the workplace.

REALIGN

Finally, we engage with one another during one-on-one sessions to realign and start fostering fresh friendships. We also shift our focus outward to see how we can apply our new understanding of sisterhood to other areas of our lives.

the villa

Out in the quiet and charming mountain area of Jixi in Anhui, we'll be nestled in the beautiful Fangkong Resort, selected for its unique decor, comforting gathering spaces, and access to nature. This resort is located in Shangzhuang ancient town, an ancient village with only 30 native people, where the meals are made fresh and the hospitality is warm. Each guest-room is hidden between the quaint Hui style houses, where the old dwelling frames were kept carefully, and new facilities were established. Each villa is surrounded by water streams and covered with green plants. This is the place where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of life and truly unwind.

A letter from your host

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about sisterhood and it’s current state back when I began my journey to find my sisterhood. I had spent some time healing my soul and body - better nutrition, more thoughtful workouts, understanding my masculine and feminine balance, journaling, meditation… all of that peace, but I still found myself with inner turmoil. I was lonely. I craved human connection, but not with just any one. I ached for that special bond that happens when two women see each other as their fullest selves, without judgment, suspicion or jealousy. Where was it? Why was I having such a hard time finding it?

In speaking with my guides and friends, I’ve learned that some of us don’t actually believe sisterhood exists, and others that crave it can’t seem to find it or get it right. But the deeper I dug, I learned that we are all seeking it, but we won’t be able to find it unless we deal with our sister wounds. Most of us are suffering from sister wounds that which we rarely discuss, afraid of the shame or vulnerability that comes with it. Or maybe we don’t have a safe space in which we can divulge our deepest pains, and we can’t find the mirrors in the women we admire that we long for.

When was the last time you saw a woman and didn’t judge her - even if she was someone you regarded so highly or just a stranger sitting in the coffee shop next to you? Why is that we as women feel like there isn’t enough joy and beauty to go around? How can we hold ourselves accountable to heal our wounds to better show up for ourselves and each other? How can we offer healing and safe spaces for our trans and non-binary friends who are navigating their divine feminine?

If you are seeking real sisterhood and to heal yourself along the way, this retreat is for you. The feedback we’ve received in anticipation for this retreat is astounding, and it has fully propelled Wanderlette’s mission into action. Rebuilding sisterhood, addressing sister wounds and bringing a new approach to wellness is our ultimate goal, and we can’t wait to have you apart of this journey.
